Three's a crowd.

by Andrew MacGregor

Short Films: “Lobsters” - 4 mins 40s

Reality bites in director Matt Huntley's amusing seaside romance. Mark is infatuated with fellow caravaner Tanya. Unfortunately, a love rival soon complicates matters.

As Mark contends with Dave's unwanted presence, his state of mind deteriorates. Thus, lovey-dovey cliches give way to foul-mouthed invective. So much for a caravan of love, eh?

Huntley draws likeable performances from his cast; Orem makes a likeable if deluded protagonist; Terry Mynott's Dave is a textbook tool; while Juliet Cowan's Tanya is caught between suitors.

Needless to say, their stormy love triangle can't end well. At least Huntley and co. ensure we get a good laugh out of it.
