Bollywood Bonanza

by Syd Briscoe

Premier Inn: “The Bridesmaid's Tale” - 60s

The Premier Inn hit a stride in their ongoing cinematic campaign with this excellent Bollywood-inspired film. Directed by master of quirk Rob Leggatt, the ad depicts a love story - with a musical twist - which takes place at a wedding.

We see both halves of the wedding party get ready at a Premier Inn, taking advantage of the chain's endless breakfast buffet. In a tale as old as time, two pairs of eyes meet across the scrambled eggs... and the love story begins.

While the film's title bears an unfortunate resemblance to a popular dystopian drama, there's nothing but joy in the action here. The production design is executed nicely - from the lighting to the set - and we have to say there's something satisfying about seeing a white guy thrown in for diversity rather than the other way around. Great work from Knucklehead and Lucky Generals.
