The new Ocado man.

by Syd Briscoe

Ocado: “Just For You” - 60s

This charming outing for grocery delivery service Ocado focuses on the dedicated journey of one driver. The unwavering worker navigates both land and sea in his ceaseless quest to deliver the widest possible range of goods - accessing his customers via boat, tractor, and even tuk-tuk. His cheery demeanour says he's still getting more breaks than his counterparts at Amazon.

The accompanying song offers a folksy, laidback rundown of the brand's range, assuring customers of all stripes that "there's an Ocado just for you". It's a welcome departure from the frantic radio ads which have drawn so much admiration and irritation over the years - with everything else going on, viewers in 2021 will appreciate the more relaxed vibe.

Furthermore, a brief vignette involving a snowmobile suggests the brand already have eyes on their debut Christmas ad. It seems like they come along earlier every year.
