LNER: “Bounce” - 40s

A good seat goes a long way, says this breezy ad for London North Eastern Railway (LNER). The protagonist remains seated throughout the 40" film, but still manages to work, play, read, and watch a film before she arrives at Mum's house for dinner. Thanks to some nifty set design and transition shots, the brand make an enthusiastic case for rail travel.

For those still wary of public transport, the last ten seconds of the ad also feature passengers wearing face masks. Unfortunately, with usage falling from eighty percent to twenty percent, there may be some uncomfortable journeys ahead for both passengers and staff. "And I'm almost there" may become a coping mechanism.
