Keep Talking

by Syd Briscoe

ITV: “TalkTalk” - 90s

ITV highlight one of the companies working to keep people connected when they've never been further apart. After 'insane but true reports earlier this year of people burning down 5G masts under the conspiratorial belief that the network - somehow - spread Covid-19, it's a relief to see that the majority of people have clung on to their sanity about telecommunications.

This restrained ad for TalkTalk focuses on the conversations we've all had in lockdown: discussions about how strange everything is, of missing each other, of being grateful that video chat lets us at least see each other's faces. It's a poignant reminder that things would have been a lot harder if this pandemic hit only a few years ago, and that modern tech is truly the marvel we need to make it through intact.
