Kick The Devil Out

by Syd Briscoe

Django Django: “Kick The Devil Out” - 3 mins 36s

The Dude may not abide, but the Devil certainly does in this intriguing promo for Django Django's 'Kick The Devil Out'. The art-rock quartet offer their sideways take on a screwball comedy in the promo, which creates a vintage vibe as it sees a demon wreak havoc in suburbia.

Director Jack Barraclough displays a wonderfully diverse sense of humour here, as the satanic house guest commits some very British sins (e.g. leaving a teabag in the sink and over-pouring gravy). More universal horrors like discarded nail clippings are on the docket too, pushing his beleaguered hosts to the edge.

Anyone who's had a visitor outstay their welcome will find this film both entertaining and discomfiting, and that well-crafted vibe makes the final shot all the more satisfying. Appealing work which bears repeated watching to take in all the incidental details.
