Kaleidoscope Eyes

by Syd Briscoe

Adobe: “Creativity for All” - 60s

This dreamy commercial for Adobe emphasises the creative potential of the brand's Photoshop software package. Director Antoine Bardou-Jacquet's trippy film depicts a surreal subway ride augmented by CG, animation, and other feats of visual trickery.

The whimsical effect is enhanced by 'She's A Rainbow' by The Rolling Stones, which emphasises the ad's fantastical nature. It's playful and polished in equal amounts - a drug-induced daydream taken to the next level of artistry.

There's plenty of humour to be found throughout the film's 60" run, too. From poodles melded onto haircuts to yawning lion commuters and a kraken-infested trip underground, it's an enjoyable watch that enlivens even the dullest jaunt on public transport. In spirit, at least.
