In 2014, Guinness shone a light on the Sapeurs of Brazzaville, the capital of the Republic of the Congo. Almost a decade later, DHL and National Geographic do the same for the Sapeuses—women who dress up in suits, ties, wingtips and other rarefied clothes. Yet as Mavula Sape president Messani Grace explains, it took a while to find their swagger.
