James Rouse studied hotel management at university before deciding to follow his creative urges. He started out in the ad industry as a copywriter and worked with Bainsfair Sharkey Trott, Euro RSCG, and DDB.
Rouse's first outing as a director was for The Viral Factory with an ad for Trojan which was extremely well received and won a Gold Lion at Cannes in 2004. Since signing to Outsider he's directed campaigns with his characteristic straight-faced humour for many household names including McDonald's, the Guardian, and Sainsbury's. https://www.outsider.tv/directors/james-rouse |
