Look Cool, Stay Warm

by Syd Briscoe

Uniqlo: “Skip Winter” - 67s

This excellent ad for Uniqlo is bound to put a spring in your step... and keep you kicking all the way through winter. Choreography has become something of a calling card for the streetwear brand, and this film is a lovely addition to their dance-focused campaign.

The flow is well thought out here, as dancers put Fred and Ginger to shame with gravity-defying moves in a snowy city setting. We never see their faces, keeping the focus firmly on their clothes and giving the film a distinctly quirky quality.

The swinging soundtrack adds to the vintage vibe, increasing the playful feel of the ad. Entertaining work from director Greg Brunkalla, assuring us that Uniqlo can keep us looking cool while staying warm all the way through winter.
