The Hour: “Answer” - 4 mins 26s

Enigmatic group The Hour has released an excellent follow-up to debut single 'Wasted', continuing their promo collaboration with director Ben Strebel. The theme of anonymity picks up where it left off, with faces hidden as before... but this time, the action takes place in a hospital where one of the masked is giving birth.

It's fascinating how the concealment of someone's features so dramatically changes our relationship with that person. They are human-shaped, they move in a human way - yet they are other. We can't read them. We feel exposed and vulnerable.

Equally, however, there is a vulnerability to them in the way they are set apart and attract curious, possibly hostile attention.

In this instance the group - its newest member included - are a tight-knit tribe. The elderly woman who arrives doesn't know how to reach them, and we can see in her eyes the generational chasm between herself and the gathering who stare facelessly back at her.
