The Greatest Dancer: “Dance, Dance, Dance” - 40s

Slick moves, celebrity captains, and buckets of style announce the second series of BBC competition show 'The Greatest Dancer'. Unlike perennial ballroom favourite 'Strictly Come Dancing', this programme pits dancers of all styles against each other to determine who deserves the titular honour - and a shot at taking on the Strictly stage to boot.

This modern attitude is reflected in director Matt Rhodes's contemporary aesthetic, which encompasses everything from neon rainbows and cat-headed dancers to multi-hued ice cream cones and animated paint splashes.

It's an eye-catching opening gambit as the channel bid to attract a wider audience reinforce their dance-based monopoly even further. Who needs Brucie when you've got memes, eh?
