Coming Home (ft. Kojey Radical)

by Andrew MacGregor

Swindle: “Coming Home (ft. Kojey Radical)” - 4 mins 37s

Record producer and jazzophile Swindle enlists rapper Kojey Radical and a full brass brand for his latest track, ‘Coming Home'. Darting between rap and spoken word, Radical (real name Kwadwo Adu Genfi Amponsah) further proves his versatility in the accompanying promo.

Shot with a vaudevillian tang by director Olivia Rose (who makes a foul-mouthed cameo off-screen, incidentally), the promo harnesses the charisma and physicality of its lead. Several costume changes later, it's hard to turn away,

He's matched by Rose's deft staging, which rattles through a variety of background changes to catch one's eye. Coupled with the track's ensemble set-up, this four-and-a-half-minute outing is modern theatre with a brass finish.
