Sonos: “The Big Lebowski” - 30s
This clever Sonos ad uses 'The Big Lebowski' to illustrate how sound and vision complement each other. Fans of the 1998 cult favourite will instantly recognise this clip from 'Gutterballs' - The Dude's fantasy porno. But as Jeff Bridges struts his stuff, something is amiss...
Stripped of Kenny Rogers's 'Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In)', all we hear is feet pattering and a few rhythmic grunts. Unsurprisingly, the scene's impact is lost.
The device prompts us to imagine what our favourite films would feel like sans soundtrack. Sonos believe home cinephiles shouldn't abide by inferior sound quality, and that their new PLAYBASE speaker can do any score justice.
