The last working supper.

by Andrew MacGregor

Short Films: “The Last Supper” - 3 mins 03s

Blessed are the marketers in this entertaining short film / comedy sketch. While Jesus - sorry, "J-Dog" - has more ethereal matters on his mind, his PR team pitch their resurrection campaign: "Think of all the followers you'll get."

The duo's Apprentice-style jargon and Christ's quiet despair clash well. As the world edges closer to the brink, we imagine marketing agencies have their Second Coming pitches tucked away in a drawer, too.

As she did with Domestic Policy, Alicia MacDonald demonstrates a deft comedy touch and even if - this time - the script is a bit slight for a full-fledged short film, she is a director whose progress we continue to watch closely.
