Short Films: “17 Small Ideas” - 2 mins 52s
Some people let their ideas simmer in a notebook or a desktop folder, never to be acted on. Others, like director Andrew Myers, compose a three-minute short film brimming with oddball concepts, in-camera curios, and visual playthings. Well, each to their own.
In Myers's case, it allows him to zip between drones carrying maritime flags, a mixing console that controls the urban din, and an unlikely cameo from ‘Home Alone'-era Macauley Culkin at a moment's notice - regardless of whether they form a cohesive whole or not.
Whether these snippets ever evolve into full-length projects is also besides the point - sometimes, it's just fun to watch a jumble of creative odds and ends before one must venture back to reality.
