Heist from Home

by Syd Briscoe

Samsung: “Galleried” - 64s

Art theft reaches digital proportions in this entertaining introduction to Samsung's latest smart TV feature. A brisk opening montage shows museum patrons across the globe left aghast when famous works of art start mysteriously disappearing from their frames - seemingly vanishing into thin air.

Despite the efforts of increasingly bewildered security guards and art historians, the paint pilfering continues unhindered. Director Gary Freedman draws out the action to great effect, as fraught emotion comes to a climax... when contrasted with the everyday act of changing the channel.

This is a livey way to draw attention to the fact Samsung's QLED model can double as art when not in use, especially for those of us who would need a five-finger discount to hang fine art on our wall.
