Have case, will travel.

by Andrew MacGregor

Samsonite: “Born To Go” - 72s

Luggage stalwarts Samsonite target a younger breed of traveller in this restless commercial, courtesy of director Ben Strebel. Working from a script that must've had the word "millenials" underlined several times in the margin, Strebel presents a vivid, bracing take on international travel.

From clubbers smeared in war paint to overhead views of a neon metropolis, these urban snapshots are both well-rendered and cut as if the editor has multiple planes to catch at once.

Tying all this together is a lofty script from Wunderman Thompson that urges viewers to "think about all the places you're not" and, erm, "tame the untameable". Nothing revolutionary then, but what's on screen will please the millenial-chasing brand no end.
