Immaculate Delivery

by Syd Briscoe

Posten Norge: “Miracle” - 78s

This cheeky commercial for the Norwegian postal service offers an alternative take on a familiar Christmas story. The audience is transported to approximately nine months BC, following a conspicuously blonde postman as he goes about his scroll deliveries in the dusty town of Nazareth... at least, until a familiar set of names appear on the latest package.

Tongue-in-cheek and playfully sacrilegious, we can't imagine anyone but the most ardent Bible-thumpers being offended by director Filip Nilsson's 'glint in the postman's eye' origin story. It's also a neat way to capitalise on the brand's long history, in addition to bringing a new twist to a fiction/non-fiction (delete as applicable) tale as old as time.
