Newport Beach Film Festival: “Toys” - 1 min 40s

This promo for the Newport Beach Film Festival racks up a tidy kill count in its hundred-second runtime. To promote the competition's twentieth edition, a boy unwittingly demonstrates the power of ideas through his toy selectionů and causes mass bloodshed as a consequence.

Thus, bashing a figurine against a table leg results in a fatal head injury; spitting out carrots causes a model to vomit orange pulp; and a shark-on-sausage attack triggers another surfing casualty. Call it playtime with a vengeance.

Although each scene offers plenty for gore-hounds to sink their teeth into, their tongue-in-cheek execution (so to speak) means it's OK to chuckle at this uncanny bloodbath. Attention-grabbing work from the Southern California showpiece.
