Marks & Spencer: “Must Haves” - 60s

For Marks and Spencer, Christmas is about the haves and the have nots… more so the former than the latter, though. This glitzy commercial rattles through an ostensible festive checklist - including incessant parties, dour in-laws, and Bridget Jones karaoke - with Holly Willoughby and David Gandy as the celebrity, well, eye candy.

Like many of M&S's rivals, this Christmas is as much about riding "challenging trading conditions" as it is wishing goodwill to all men. Whether the sight of David Gandy in yellow Marigolds is enough to the bolster the retailer's fortunes remains to be seen, but the brand once again deliver requisite sparkle for 2018.
