Lovehoney: “Turn Up The Turn On” - 30s
Lovehoney are one of a number of newer companies who've made a name for themselves in the realm of sex toys by associating themselves with female empowerment. The sleazy sex shops of the past which appeared to cater to the classic 'dirty old man' have been completely usurped by retailers catering to the needs of women. And because women have often been treated as products rather than customers by the sex industry, any company which has hit the right tone has raked in the cash. This film, broadcast for the first time on National Orgasm Day, completely nails the proposition. It's sexy without being sleazy, and the women in it are seeking gratification rather than providing it. It sends a clear signal that Lovehoney understand that the modern woman is no longer willing to put up with a second rate sex life, and that this company sells the tools which will help her get what she wants. We feel sure that female director Tiny Bullet will say that it's a coincidence that this project's cinematographer and its editor are also both female, but DAVID reckons that each member of this ménage à trois helped ensure the film's authenticity. It seems certain that this commercial is going to get Lovehoney's bottom line buzzing.
