When the jazzman testifies.

by Andrew MacGregor

Lime: “Tanguy” - 2 mins 49s

The mere mention of jazz is enough to whip some people into a coma. However, this melodious short film by electric scooter manufacturers Lime offers a more palatable insight into the genre, courtesy of trumpeter and scooter convert Tanguy Jouanjan.

Despite the relative fragility of his chosen career, Jouanjan insists he couldn't be happier with life without a plan B. Alas, a commute on the Paris Métro doesn't provide the inspiration he craves... and that's where the advertised brand come in.

The ad then depicts Jouanjan cruising through the streets like a lime green blur, who notes his increased awareness of the sights and sounds Paris has to offer. It's attractively shot, with glimpses of Jouanjan in the zone emphasising his newfound flow.

This isn't the case for every Lime customer, however, with San Francisco - the unofficial Mecca of electric scooters - currently in the midst of a scooter repossession epidemic. The brand must hope cities like Paris don't pursue a similar course of action.
