Spring into action

by Syd Briscoe

Highland Spring: “The Chase” - 30s

This dramatic ad for Highland Spring has a James Bond type parachuting into the Scottish landscape, trying to catch a train in a slightly unorthodox manner. He makes a death-defying climb through rocky terrain and finally leaps into the impressive cloud of steam...

Only for an abrupt cut to reveal he's just a bloke trying to catch the bus to work without getting his feet wet. It's a satisfying reveal, as is the moment of levity when the queue-jumper (who has no doubt earned a special place in hell for his very unBritish crime) manages to spill his water when the bus jolts unexpectedly.

A fun film which makes the most of Highland Spring's Scottish roots - and from an all-Scottish team, no less. Thoroughly enjoyable stuff.
