Heathrow Airport - Sound Escape

by Syd Briscoe

Heathrow Airport: “Sound Escape” - 60s

The way a place sounds is a rarely-described aspect of travel, but for audiophile Nick Ryan, it's everything. From echoing church bells to crashing waves, he attempts to capture the unique aural nature of locations so they can help travellers re-live their past getaways. We assume he left out recording inside Heathrow itself, which surely won't trigger good memories for anyone flying cattle class.
