Forget-Me-Not

by Syd Briscoe

Google: “Loretta” - 90s

An elderly widower is able to remember his wife with ease thanks to Google Assistant in this poignant Super Bowl outing for the internet overlord. While many of us worry about Big Brother or Sister listening in via our smart devices, this film offers a very different take on what a fully-connected world can mean.

The action smartly stays within the white search screen, keeping the visuals clean and stripped-back yet still evocative. It's an angle many won't have considered - the role of smart devices in helping those with dementia or other disabilities - and the simple sweetness of the man's reminder requests ("Remember Loretta hated my moustache") will have many blaming game day allergies for their sniffles.
