Sins of the Father.

Far Cry 5: “The Baptism” - 2 mins 20s

Ubisoft's globe-trotting ‘Far Cry' series has finally reached the United States of America. Unsurprisingly, the first-person shooter offers a grim take on life across the pond.

This live-action trailer introduces gamers to Joseph ‘The Father' Seed - pastor, militia leader, and fatal baptism enthusiast. We learn how Seed's cult rose to prominence in rural Montana. Naturally, players must ensure their downfall.

The film fleshes out some of the game's provocative themes. Given Far Cry's emphasis on freeform mayhem, we wonder if anything profound will be heard over the gunfire.

Nonetheless, this is a startling achievement and while the various companies who represent him must be bursting with pride, they must also feel a rising certainty that they'll lose their star to narrative features before long... because - on this basis - he's more than ready.
