Dr Martens: “Tough As You” - 60s

Since their first flush of counter-culture popularity in decades past, Dr Martens have gone in and out of fashion but consistently earned kudos for one thing in particular: their durability. This latest campaign plays on this somewhat imperilled reputation in a big way, marrying the footwear's enduring power with the self-possession and confidence of its wearers.

Director Taz Tron Delix uses the brand's distinctive yellow stitching to influence the film's colour palette, as the fast-paced action encompasses the body positive movement, rock music subculture, and the punk spirit in the modern era. The multiple messages work well here, adding up to embody the spirit of rebellion both brand and fans alike aspire to.
