Life still moves pretty fast

by Andrew MacGregor

Domino's Pizza: “Home for Pizza” - 1 min 42s

Having starred in ‘Stranger Things,' Joe Keery should feel at home in Eighties throwbacks. Now the tousled heartthrob takes the lead in this lovely homage to 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' from Domino's.

Just like Matthew Broderick's truant teen, Keery navigates backyards and trampolines in a race home. He's not trying to evade parents or thwart a vengeful sister, though... the man's got pizza on the way.

Director Matt Lenski ensures it's a well-shot recreation of the the 1986 original's chase scene. Even Alan Ruck a.k.a. Cameron Frye cameos as a befuddled driver. No sign of Bueller's leopardskin waistcoat, but you can't have everything.

Even if the link between the film and the brand is somewhat tenuous (one scene did take place in a pizzeria), the ad chimes well with the current trend for Eighties revivals while promoting the brand's thoroughly modern tracker widget.
