Love Made Me Do It

by Alice May

Cheryl: “Love Made Me Do It” - 3 mins 39s

Poor old Cheryl Cole - has a baby, releases her first single since 2015, and is immediately swamped with criticism of her looks / weight / clothes / song.

We've never been the biggest fans, but give the woman a break. In fairness, 'Love Made Me Do it' is three and a half minutes of pure, earworm pop and she carries it off admirably with help from Sophie Muller's neat promo.

Sporting a variety of hairstyles (with a nod to FKA Twigs), Cheryl sings about being a sucker who falls in love "with every f***er", and has some slick choreographed interaction with her hot male dancers.

It's a sassy video. Muller presents her as a genuine queen of pop and she blossoms in response. Good on her. Don't listen to the haters, Chezzer! They couldn't wear those trousers either!
