Impossible

by Andrew MacGregor

C Duncan: “Impossible” - 3 mins 34s

The Hilton Birmingham Metropole may not the most glamorous destination, but for those participating in the annual European Elvis Championships, it's the West Midlands' answer to Las Vegas.

This endearing C Duncan promo from director Eoin Glaister charts the trial and tribulations of one would-be Presley as he endures stage fright, quiff envy, and a wardrobe emergency. Well, no-one said being the King was easy.

What emerges from this hotel conference hall spectacle is a shaky-cam tribute to the event's sense of brotherhood and lo-fi glitz. Anchored by a warm lead performance from comedian Luke McQueen, it's a fitting accompaniment to Duncan's celebratory track.
