Going, going, gondala.

BMW: “Venice” - 45s

How do you solve a problem like overtourism? That's the question facing myriad holiday destinations, including the so-called Queen of the Adriatic, Venice. Fortunately, BMW manage to clear the pedestrian traffic by unleashing their new 8 Series coupé on the city's walkways.

Those blasé about such scenic test drives, however, will be pleased to know a little more thought has gone into proceedings. Drawing on both the city and the marque's respective histories, director Daniel Wolfe depicts a young Venetian boy as he dreams of racing through his hometown.

The end result is a slick yet evocative trip to Italy's canal capital. Alas, one fears recent weather events may, well, dampen enthusiasm for the brand's well-intentioned offering.
