Antibiotics Social Awareness: “Bubbles” - 90s

This Antibiotics Social Awareness film brings the potential consequences of the over-use of antibiotics into stark relief with this dystopian film. Directed by Simon Aboud, it treats isolation bubbles rather differently from the 2001 Jake Gyllenhaal film.

The piece strikes an ominous tone throughout, as people are shown drifting through a grey, muted world in pockets of their own necessary isolation. From young lovers unable to touch one another to the death of playtime, it's a strong warning against using medicines when they're not really needed - breeding bugs which will, eventually, be resistant to them.
