American Express: “Reykjavik” - 3 mins 50s

This piece of branded content for American Express provides a fascinating examination of cultures discovering unexpected common ground. British poet James Massiah explores various traditions of poetry in Iceland and the viewer is offered a glimpse of what can happen when artists are caught up in each other's work.

His encounter with an all-female Icelandic rap troupe is particularly interesting as this particular musical genre has much more going for it than intuition may suggest.

As always with these short documentary films, you have to wonder how it will find an audience but it is an excellent piece of work nonetheless.
