With 370 people employed at its 9-acre site, McCann Manchester is one of the most significant agencies outside London. It's intelligently run and the calibre of the creative is consistently strong - the way it has repositioned discount supermarket Aldi and changed the shopping landscape as a result is testament to this. This is an agency that thinks big, and has the wherewithal to live up to its ambitions. http://www.mccannmanchester.com |

Aldi "Cake Brands" Just a few weeks ago, DAVID was praising Aldi for its combative approach in tackling M&S. You may recall that the latter took legal action against the former because they felt that the party cake, Cuthbert the Caterpillar, was an infringement of their copyright. The case was eventually settled and, whatever the legal outcomes, there was no question that Aldi were the moral winners.
