Liz Murphy

Australian-born Liz Murphy's work is suffused with warmth and emotion; focusing on the small moments in life. She earned a degree in film and television before an inauspicious start in the industry getting coffee at a post house.

Her moving films for charities demonstrate her emotional intelligence and ability to get a moving performance from whoever she directs.

WORK:
Magnet
"Growing Up"
This has been rather nicely done, even if the twist in the tail ending - that it's the kitchen talking - does make it sound like something Charlie Brooker will steal for the next series of Black Mirror, an episode in which a family is tortured using a series of kitchen appliances.
