Lieven van Baelen

Belgian native Lieven van Baelen began his career as a telecine operator before becoming one of Belgium’s leading colourists. He then stepped behind the lens to be an award-winning DP; but his desire to keep adding strings to his bow meant directing soon became important to him.

Renowned for his cutting-edge visual style and vast understanding of post production techniques, van Baelen nonetheless consistently ensures the story and feel of his films take top priority.

Renault Captur
"Capture Life"
Fans of mid-Noughties Australian rock will appreciate this latest Renault Captur ad. Jet's ‘Are You Gonna Be My Girl?' provides the soundtrack to this bloke's urban jaunt, featuring hotel raids and impromptu concerts. Those expecting to provide lead vocals every time they use the advertised vehicle may be disappointed.
