Two through the door at Kode.

by Andrew MacGregor

Kode have bolstered their roster by signing directors Huse Monfaradi and Locky McKenna for representation.

Having recently described his outfit as the AFC Bournemouth of production companies - "steadily rising and challenging the big boys" - Partner and Head of New Business Dan Mallerman thinks the arrivals of Monfaradi and Locky can only improve Kode's standing in 2019.

Read on for more on Kode's latest recruits...

1. Huse Monfaradi

Huse Monfaradi joins Kode's music roster with a selection of choice promos under his belt. From early Arctic Monkeys cuts to intimate studio sessions with the likes of Michael Kiwunaka, Monfaradri remains a man in demand on the promo circuit.

As well as his musical exploits, Monfaradi continues to dabble in commercials and short films with equal vigour. For instance, his 2018 documentary ‘A Life Like Water' offers a thoughtful and skilfully composed insight into his father Hasan's daily existence.

2. Locky McKenna

Locky (or Lochlainn McKenna, if you're not into the whole brevity thing) describes his new home as a "lovely, genuine bunch" and one that stems from "a place of diligence and hard work". When this combination proved too difficult to ignore, the Irishman signed on the dotted line.

He's already marked the occasion with a promo for Irish beatmaker Daithí, which sees a couple's long-term relationship unfold in three-and-a-half minutes. Despite the modest setting, Locky sketches a compelling tale through nuanced characterisation and visual cues.
