Enter Kiku Ohe at Stink London.

by Andrew MacGregor

Every successful shoot requires a director who knows precisely what they want. Fortunately, Kiku Ohe has the art of preparation down to a tee.

The Japanese-Australian filmmaker - and Stink London's newest UK signing - says: "Things can get contrived very quickly. Performance and casting are everything, no matter the category or style. I search for truth in its simplest form".

This meticulous approach has served Ohe well in a career that has so far incorporated design, photography, editing, and directing. His films - both long and short-form - have since won him plenty of admirers, not least Stink's Blake Powell.

With real depth to Stink's offering, the breadth and scope of where we can apply cinematic storytelling together is exciting.

The company's Managing Partner says: "I've been a huge fan of Kiku's for a while. It's rare to see such strong visuals complement, rather than replace, the storytelling. I'm hugely excited to see what we can achieve together at Stink."

Ohe is quick to repay the compliment: "I've always respected the work that comes out of Stink. Not only do they really understand filmmakers, they understand the changing landscape. With real depth to their offering, the breadth and scope of where we can apply cinematic storytelling together is exciting."
