Cadence Films sign Clemens Purner.

by Andrew MacGregor

Clemens Purner has joined Cadence Films for commercial representation.

Described as a "terrific addition" to the Cadence roster, Purner combines agency and production nous. Having studied at Miami Ad School's Hamburg branch, he keeps brands and agencies onside with his perceptive approach.

Sounds like a well-travelled man. Purner currently flits between Berlin and Paris. He's also been known to travel further afield… Bhutan, for instance. This short film charts Purner's adventures in the Himalayan kingdom - a holiday video worth watching.

How's his commercial reel shaping up? Purner's already worked on numerous high-profile campaigns. His advertising background ensures he quickly gels with clients - something Cadence is keen to nurture.

[Purner's] work is smart and filmic, and showcases an unmistakeable knack for sequence, pacing, and subtle humor.

He recently caught the eye with this VW commercial. Rare is the ad that casts nihilism in a positive light, but Purner's ode to nothingness earned him recognition at Cannes and elsewhere.

Cadence must have high hopes. EP Lorenzo Ragionieri says: "We couldn't be more thrilled to welcome Clemens to the Cadence Films roster. His work is smart and filmic, and showcases an unmistakeable knack for sequence, pacing, and subtle humor.

"His ability to convey ideas with style is what drew me to him right away."

And what does Purner think about his new home? "Cadence has a unique and captivating positive energy that caught me straight away. It is obvious that all heart and soul goes into creating the best and most beautiful work possible."

Clemens Purner's showreel is available here. Cadence Films are represented in the UK by Agent Elson, so give Kate Elson a ring on 07970 943 464 or email her at kate@agentelson.com.
