Blinkink score a brace.

by Andrew MacGregor

Blinkink have signed husband-and-wife directing duo Stevie Gee and Essy May, as well as adding animator and illustrator Robert Hunter to their ranks.

The studio's latest hiring spree brings plenty of industry experience to the table, as well as some hefty creative firepower. Let's learn a little more about Blinkink's new arrivals individually…

1. Stevie Gee and Essy May

Stevie Gee and Essy May initially found success as illustrators before deciding that production was their next port of call. The switch paid off, as Gee and May quickly established themselves with fetching work for the likes of E4 and Mastodon.

The latter saw the pair dabble with live-action and animation, as a spiritual enlightenment seminar morphs into a brain-frying jaunt to another plane of existence. Clients can expect yet more vivid and irreverent outcomes from Gee and May soon.

2. Robert Hunter

The pair are joined by the multitalented Robert Hunter, who enjoys a reunion of sorts with Blinkink veteran Elliot Dear. Hunter and Dear have previously collaborated on a number of musical projects, the latest being the promo for Jon Hopkins's ‘Emerald Rush'.

Drawing from a cool yet inviting colour palette, Hunter and his co-director deliver a trippy vision of chrysalises and subterranean crystals. London-based Hunter now aims to build on his already accomplished reel even further as one of Blinkink's own.
