Academy have added two new directors to their stable: Luke Davies and Fiona Godivier.
The pair enrich a roster already replete with talent, bringing both youth and experience to the table. Davies is known for his intriguing concepts and intense work ethic, while Godivier is known for her experimental work and numerous successful short films.
1. Luke Davies
Luke Davies's 2015 graduation film 'Unleaded' won Best of the Fest at the Seattle International Film Festival and picked up a Young Directors Award at Cannes - quite the kick-off for his burgeoning career.
Since then, Davies has established himself as a talented promo director, equally at home with dark and humorous concepts alike. His work for UK grime acts has been particularly well-recognised, with his promo for Bossman Birdie garnering plenty of industry accolades.
2. Fiona Godivier
French-Chilean artist Fiona Godivier studied photography in New York, before spending time in Paris working at Studio Mercer as a 3D animator. It was there she began to work on independent films, and was bitten by the directing bug.
Since diving into the world of film head first, Godivier's short films have piqued fans of experimental cinema and been screened at festivals all over the world. Her reel is constantly growing, as she develops her narrative style alongside well-received music promos and commercial projects.
